WHY ARE FENNO MUFFLER SYSTEMS A SMART CHOICE?Fennosteel’s product development, manufacturing and sales comply entirely with the ISO 9001 certificate. TÜV Deutschland, the leading car industry quality control institute, performed the audit. Fennosteel’s activity complies with the requirements of the environmental management standard 14001, and the products comprise reusable materials. All mufflers and exhaust pipes are manufactured pursuant to EU directives and are equivalent to the original products as regards the noise and backfire levels. Pursuant to EU standards, the mufflers sold in EU territory must have an e-approval, shown by the symbol ‘e’ on the product. E-approved mufflers manufactured in Finland are labelled with ‘e-17’. The testing line and test laboratory owned by the Fenno factory accelerate the approval process required by the EU.
Constant research and product development ensure that the products are up to date and compatible. The structure of FennoSteel muffler systems is durable and they are fast and easy to install. The materials used – Al-Zn steel – is extremely corrosive-resistant and therefore suitable in the hard Nordic climate. The internal parts of mufflers also include Al-Zn steel that significantly adds durability. The absorbent material includes natural, long-fiber mineral wool made of German basalt. The flexible parts of muffler systems have an equivalent durability compared to the original parts, and they are equipped with both internal and external stainless steel wire braids. FennoSteel has an individual exhaust pipe production line, and therefore, the complete manufacturing process is carried out in the same place. The EAN-codes and various reference numbers are available for labels as well. FennoSteel’s supplemented product catalogue is published every second year. The authoritative Finnish technology magazine Tekniikan Maailma published comparison test results of muffler systems produced by different manufacturers, and Fenno passed the test with flying colours. In order to perform the test, TM installed a so-called ‘original muffler’ with gaskets after the catalyst, purchased from the Toyota importer in Finland, on a 1993 Toyota. The results were compared to analogues from Walker, Bosal, Red and Fenno. TM measured the noise-reducing levels and back pressure and assessed the mufflers’ commercial appearance. The test was based on meeting the requirements set for muffler systems by the EU and the manufacturers had to add the ‘e’ mark to introduce it.
